People think of Nora Anne as a highly effective and pampered fundraiser, but she had a hard life up until she was 3 years old.  Nora Anne was a breeder hound, stuffed in a cage and forced to have puppies until she was no longer useful to the backyard breeder that owned her.  She was sold and then sold again on Craig’s List.  It was through the perseverance of Margaret Lewis that she came to Basset Hound Rescue of Georgia in 2014.  Nora Anne was spotted at the Basset Bash by Marci Thomas who knew that the shy little hound needed her and that she needed Nora Anne.  Fast forward almost 8 years and with hundreds of thousands of dollars raised for basset rescues around the country, Nora Anne is running for the Senior Basset calendar. 

Nora Anne never complains, in fact she’s always been game to dress up in petticoats and earbows, snooter out winning raffle tickets, and attend fundraising events.  Of course, like other bassets, Nori has had her fair share of food thievery and other mischief.  But that just made her more endearing.

Nora Anne is getting white around her eyes and her precious snooter freckles are not as bright as they once were.  She moves slower and sometimes she can’t remember where she is.  She sleeps a lot.  But her eyes are still those of a child.  She’s her mommy’s angel, a precious little girl disguised as a hound. 

We hope you will vote for Nora Anne. She’s not asking for a lot, one or two dollars and a note to let her know you love her. I know that I am biased but as her mom, I believe there is no hound more deserving.
