In 2018, Billie Jean and her son, Ben, came into Suncoast Basset Rescue when their human passed away. Sadly, they were split up because there was not a foster home available to take both at the same time. Billie Jean and Ben lost their entire family instantly, but with lots of love and patience, they were able to find new homes!

At 14 years young, Billie Jean enjoys going to work with her mom and holds the title “Girl Boss”! She’s a laid back gal that loves her goat milk and chicken strips. Billie Jean can often be seen laying out by the pool or chilling in her favorite spot on the couch. She’s known for digging at her blankets and cuddling up with all her stuffies. Billie Jean is the center of attention in her moms’ world, especially when hogging the bed at night!

Ben, 11, is a quiet, gentle, shy guy. His human mom says he’s perfect in every way and tells him how handsome he is on a daily basis. Ben likes going on sniffaris, slurping up froyo and making trips to “the store” to get whimzees. On walks, he has fan clubs of cats, squirrels, turtles, chickens and birds that like to join in. Ben prefers people over other four-leggers and gives big, sloppy kisses if you get too close. He also love bites when excited because he’s so happy!

Although they now live apart, they share many of the same characteristics, like greeting their parents at the door with their favorite toy – LAMB CHOPS! Both have survived bouts of cancer and been steadfast supporters of basset rescues for the last five years. Life is good for this mother and son duo. It’s time to pay it forward support the senior hounds!
