Hi!   I am Herbie!

Herbie found himself behind bars at Escambia FL Animal control in Dec of 2022.  The reasons for his incarceration are not clear.  What matters though is that Senior Houndsabound was contacted and we committed to take him in. Herbie spent a few weeks in the panhandle before coming to Orlando to have a few masses removed and his teeth cleaned. 

He is prone to masses and we are grateful that none, so far, have been cancerous.  If you see Herbie he looks a little different than the other Bounders because he doesn’t have a tail.  It had to be amputated because of one of his masses. 

Even though he had a rough life up until we took him in, he is still a big happy boy. He takes his surgeries in stride and is the self-appointed ruler of the house.  When Herbie moves, he moves and the other Bounders get out of the way if they’re smart. He has sat on more than one beagle, probably because he doesn’t know where his butt is at times. 

Herbie loves sleeping on the big bed and often naps on his back, 4 paws up.  Herbie may have a substance abuse issue.  Coffee is his weakness and we have to be careful or he will empty our cups.

Herbie wants to give back to Senior Houndsabound for taking him in and getting him all fixed up so he can live a life filled with love, food, pets, and of course, more food! He knows there will be more like him in need one day and he wants to be sure there are resources to rescue more hounds.   Please help with your votes!
