Winston is our newest boy! He came to us through Sarasota AC on 8/9/2023 as his owner had to go into assisted living and no one could take him. He came with a huge mass on his side which has turned out to be soft tissue sarcoma. Excision is the treatment for that along with radiation. Winston is 14 and we have opted not to do radiation, as this is a very slow growing cancer. Even if it comes back, we can remove again and possibly start a trial chemo protocol. He will be seen by our oncologist periodically for check-ups. We are waiting to get a dental done on him, once his blood work gets looking good. (Liver values are off) Winston has settled in well but is still a bit anxious when I do leave for a bit. He loves that he can sleep on the big bed with his pack!
